Decorating your Wedding Venue with Hanging Lanterns

  • Decorating your Wedding Venue with Hanging Lanterns

Paper hanging lanterns can be hung in every type of wedding venue and here we tell you how it can be done. The way you decorate your venue, how you use our paper lanterns, and the sizes and numbers you want depends upon the type of venue you have and the look you wish to create for your big day.

Hotels – work with the décor of the room and consider the existing colours and styles. You do not want your wedding lanterns to clash with the curtains and carpet!

Barns – very easy to decorate using paper lanterns by utilising the exposed beams. A rustic theme works very well using our irregular ribbed hanging lanterns in white and ivory.

Marquees – traditional wedding lanterns can be hung in lined and unlined marquees. The easiest way to suspend hanging lanterns is using crocodile clips and fishing line attached directly to the lining, or just using fishing line tied to the exposed marquee frame. Wedding marquees offer you a perfectly blank canvas so you can be as creative as you want with the variety of sizes and colours available in our Chinese lantern range.

Church – continue your theme from the wedding ceremony to your reception using tissue pom-poms on the ends of the aisles and the backs of chairs, or place open parasols at the end of each pew and in front of the top table.

Outside – summer fete style weddings in country fields are becoming increasingly popular and our pastel colours work best with hay bales and traditional English games such as croquet and bowls. You may prefer to use or outdoor lanterns which, being made of nylon, are waterproof should the Great British summer fail us.
