Lanterns at CoppaFeel Festival June 15th 2013

  • Lanterns at CoppaFeel Festival June 15th 2013

Coppafeel is a one day music 'festifeel' hosted by Radio 1's Fearne Cotton. This year, its 4th year, sees the festival move from Hoxton to its new location at Islington Metal Works, London.

For one day only Fearne Cotton has organised for the likes of Maverick Sabre, Gabrielle Aplin and X Factor's Kye Sones to perform to the crowds creating an indoor mini festival in the heart of the city of London.

This year's festival is set to be even bigger and better, and raise even more money than last year's - the one day music festival in 2012 raised over £10,000 with every penny going to charity.

Coppafeel is on a mission to stamp out the late detection of breast cancer and is encouraging women to check their breasts and "Coppafeel", after CEO and founder Kris Halligan was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 23. She and her charity are encouraging you to know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and know how your boobs look and feel so that you can detect any changes immediately.

The Coppafeel team and numerous volunteers spent a long day on Friday, 14th June 2013 decorating Islington Metalworks with our fuchsia pink, navy blue and silver paper hanging lanterns. The team regularly tweeted their progress throughout the day and even shared some pictures of their Coppafeel lanterns! 50 paper lanterns were used in total between 8" and 36" in diameter. To create a relaxed, festival atmosphere Coppafeel have hung their coloured lanterns at random heights around the Metalworks.

We think it looks great and wish Kris and the CoppaFeel! charity enormous success with their fundraising and increasing women's awareness of breast cancer.
