Wedding magazine’s ‘Real Weddings’ brings you pages and pages of ideas from their pick of the most stylish big-day celebrations.
The February March 2013 issue of Wedding features Vicky and Gavin’s big day in Whitewell, Lancashire. Their theme was vintage lace with light pink and turquoise and they wanted to create a laidback and handmade vibe. Bride Vicky handmade a lot of the decorations and accessories for the big day herself including the tissue pom poms, bunting, cushions and stationery! If you aren’t as handy or creative steal their look quickly and easily using our pink, yellow and ivory paper pom poms, and add shabby chic touches including vintage books and antique lace accessories.
Bright, young things Johanna and Jason married in a marquee in her Mum’s elegant garden on a beautiful sunny day. The bride and groom did not shy away from a vibrant, bold colour scheme and covered the ceiling of the white marquee using 100 pink and green paper lanterns, which created a spectacular backdrop for their photographs. They also added a vintage touch here and there using chandeliers in the trees outside, and antique china and porcelain on the tables to create a truly magical day. A traditional white marquee allows you to put your decorative stamp on your big day – Kate and Doug got married in Kent just after the Queen’s Jubilee weekend so what better colour scheme to use than red, white and blue. To give their plain marquee that wow factory they hung giant paper lanterns and red and white bunting from the ceiling. Inject a patriotic touch into your big day with vibrant shades, gingham and Union Jacks.
