The ninth annual Argus Achievement Awards took place at the Theatre Royal in Brighton on October 10th 2010 presented by BBC news reader Nicholas Owen.
With an audience of over 700 guests, The Hanging Lantern Company’s Aimee Payne was proud to present "The Achiever Of The Year Award 2010” to YEAR 7 student Lauren Gander. Lauren was nominated by Jane Brown, who said, ‘Lauren has brought joy and happiness to just about every walk of life. She is the most amazing little girl."
She has been awarded a gold Blue Peter badge for her charity work, and is one of only 17 individuals in 50 years to have been given the award.
Lauren is an ambassador for disabled children’s charity Whizz Kids and has raised over £30,000 for it in the past year alone.
The heart-warming ceremony gave the unsung heroes of Sussex their moment in the spotlight – and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Congratulations Lauren, and keep up the good work!!
