The Hanging Lantern company supplies lanterns for Madame Butterfly currently being performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Madame Butterfly will be showing at the Royal Albert Hall from Thursday 24th February 2011 – Sunday 13th March 2011.
The show first opened at the Royal Albert Hall (London) back in 1998 telling the story of love between an American naval lieutenant and his young Japanese bride (Madame Butterfly).
Madame Butterfly’s’ house is set on stilts above the shimmering surface of a Japanese water garden in Nagasaki and it’s here you will see our white and red even ribbed round Chinese lanterns ranging from 12 inches to 18 inches. We have also supplied some 10 inch kawaii shaped paper lanterns.
The music was choreographed by Puccini, sung in English and performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, telling a tale full of tragedy and sorrow as after several years away the lieutenant returns to Japan with his American wife!
