Macmillans Mid Summer Madness

The Staffordshire friends of Macmillan created a night of ‘Midsummer Madness” for 220 guests in June 2014.

“We were fortunate to be given a wedding marquee to use for our fund raising evening and were very keen to create a magical atmosphere for our Midsummer Madness theme. But, there were only 24 hours between a wedding and our event to set up the décor, tables and get the whole marquee dressed.

With support from the Hanging Lantern Company, in particular Natalie's help in pre-planning our requirements, we created something very special full of colour, fun and atmosphere. We hung a variety of different sized paper lanterns ranging from 4” to 30” in diameter and used vibrant shades to ensure we kept the them running throughout, including, red, lime, fuchsia and orange paper lanterns. We placed Buttonlite LED lights inside our hanging lanterns to provide a warm glow during the evening.

The Midsummer Madness event was a huge success, both in terms of enjoyment and fundraising, Midsummer Madness raised over £33,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
